No, this movie is now a fad that has become marketable to younger audiences, thank you Glee…for ruining another special thing about my childhood.
This movie was popular among younger audiences before Glee did it, actually. A lot of my friends knew about it way beforehand and my college performed it this past fall semester. In fact, I think it’s actually OVERrated. Yes, it’s decent, but it’s not as fantastic as it’s made out to be.
I don’t particularly think RHPS is the greatest movie as far as story line, but its more of the idea behind it that makes it thousands of peoples favorite movie, along with me. I love the songs as well as the outrageousness of the characters. And I do think that glee showed it to a lot of younger fans and made it potentially less special. I’m no longer the only person who has heard of it, but I still do feel rocky horror has a special home inside. Has glee maybe exploited it, yes. But sharing something that makes your childhood special is not particularly a bad thing.
